Looking for a job can be challenging at the best of times. Today, we are faced with an online world with endless information and opportunities, from shopping and business transactions to banking and job-hunting.
The possibilities are limited only by the imagination - but for those new to technology, it can be tricky to know where to start.
This course provides a basic introduction to:
· general computer terminology and skills
· understanding and navigating the Internet
· searching and applying for work online, including use of programs such as Seek, Sidekicker and LinkedIn
· understanding email and the most popular social media programs,including Facebook, Instagram and eBay
· computer-based tools for writing letters, filing information, etc.
To support your learning, participants are requested to bring their own
WiFi-enabled device (e.g. laptop, tablet, smartphone) to the sessions.
