St Kilda Shule/Yad Vashem Holocaust masterclass

In an Australian first, St Kilda Shule is partnering with Yad Vashem, Jerusalem to present a 10-week Holocaust education course. From Jewish life in pre-war Poland to artifacts from the Shoah, from the German Jewish response to the rise of Nazism to women in the Resistance, the course starts on Thursday 15 October and runs to 17 December inclusive.

The masterclass, by pre-registration only (by 8 October) and with limited places, will cover:

15 Oct: Antisemitism - Rabbi Moshe Cohn, Head, Jewish World Section
22 Oct: Pre-War Polish Jewish Community - Ephraim Kaye, Director, International Seminars YV (ret)
29 Oct: Daily life in the Warsaw Ghetto - Yael Eaglestein, Educational Coordinator, Gandel Holocaust Studies Program for Australian Educators
5 Nov: Kristallnacht special - German Jewish response to the rise of Nazism 1933-39 - Rabbi Moshe Cohn
12 Nov: Theresienstadt - Yad Vashem educator
19 Nov: Cultural life in the Vilna Ghetto - Yad Vashem educator
26 Nov: Artifacts from the Shoah - Yad Vashem educator
3 Dec: Fierce females: women in the Resistance - Sheryl Ochayon
10 Dec: Jewish mothers in the ghettos - Rabbi Moshe Cohn
17 Dec: The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising - Rabbi Moshe Cohn
