However, the onus is on the customer to contact their energy retailer. The energy retailers are not reaching out to customers to help them.
If a customer fails to pay their energy bill and doesn't ask their retailer for help, they are liable to be disconnected.
Customers in financial difficulty must contact their energy retailer and ask for help to avoid disconnection.
