It has come to our attention that a number of our members were on board Qantas Flight QF94 that landed in Melbourne on Friday the 6th of March, in which there has been a confirmed case of Coronavirus in the flight.
To date, none of our members have been confirmed as carrying the virus.
However, as these members have been on our premises since arriving back in Melbourne, our cleaners will be doing a detailed clean of the premises tonight.
Additionally, these members have also used our Mikvah since arriving in Melbourne. As such, on the advice of the Department of Health, the Mikvah has now been closed and will undergo a detailed clean.
Please arrange to collect your towels and other belonging from the Mikvah before 9AM on Tuesday the 10th of March (Purim morning). All belongings left in the Mikvah after this time will have to be discarded.
We hope that the Mikvah will reopen on Thursday morning.
Please note that at this stage we do not have any confirmed cases and we have been advised by the Department of Health that we do not need to take any further action.
We have been commended by the Health Department on the actions we are taking and we will ensure to keep you informed as more information comes to light.
In the meantime we will continue to work with the Health Department.
We thank everybody for their cooperation.
Yours sincerely,
The Board of CIVL (Chabad Institutions of Victoria Ltd)
