We are seeking to engage an Integration Aide to fill a full time position commencing in 2020.
The primary purpose of the position is to work with a student who is identified as having special needs and who requires additional support to access learning success within a mainstream school classroom.
The role requires someone who demonstrates empathy, knowledge, professionalism and care for a wonderful girl.
It requires someone who enjoys furthering their knowledge and professional development in various ways including emotion coaching, behavioural development and assist in advancing her life skills to achieve the best outcomes for her.
The role will include attending therapy sessions (during school hours) and implementing the therapy incidentally as part of her modified schooling.
Applicants must possess qualifications and/or experience as an Integration Aide with a proven ability to provide a nurturing, interesting and stimulating environment which caters for the needs of a wonderful young girl.
The Integration Aide will:
Be familiar with the duties and responsibilities of the role, with prior experience an advantage.
Be an active team member with a desire to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff.
Relate effectively to children.
Demonstrate an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children.
Display excellent behavioural management skills and confidence when dealing with difficult situations.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Engage in professional development activities as required.
Have the ability to maintain a flexible attitude to daily work flow.
Have the capacity to make appropriate judgments to ensure student safety and welfare.
Have successfully completed Working with Children Check
A current VIC driver's licence and a current First Aid Certificate are preferred.
